Starting with periods, place names, community stories and cultural traces, this project builds cultural maps for a subdistrict and turns them into tangible leads for public space and local scenes.
How can a subdistrict find its culture in scattered community memories?

How the case unfolds
This work does not begin with a unified style or slogan. It returns first to the making of the subdistrict and its communities: periods, historic place names, people, events and everyday memory. Each community develops a cultural map and scene theme, which are then carried back into ageing housing areas, pocket spaces, streets and public activities. Culture becomes a spatial language residents can recognise, designers can extend and the subdistrict can use to communicate.
